Barangay Comprehensive Development Plan
Development planning at any level of government agency and institution is mandated by law. The Local Government Code of 1981 (R.A. 7160); The Urban Development and Housing Act of 1992 (RA 7279); and The Social Reform and Poverty Alleviation Act of 1997 (R.A. 8425) are just a few laws that entails tomandates all the concerning government agencies and institutions for the formulation of development plans.
At the Barangay level, RA 7169, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1981, states that the Barangay is “the primary planning and implementing unit of government policies, plans, programs, projects and activities in the community, and as a forum wherein the collective views of the people may be expressed crystallized and considered”.
This extension project of University of Southeastern Philippines-School of Applied Economics " Barangay Enhancement program" aims to assist barangays in Mindanao in formulating their barangay development plan. This is a continuing program, for 2013, seven barangays were assisted in formulating and writing their CBDP.
The barangays were:
1. Barangay Manambulan, Tugbok District
2. Barangay Kiagot, Digos City
3. Barangay Camansi, Toril District
4. Barangay Kilate, Toril District
5. Barangay Bago Gallera, Talomo District
6. Barangay Indangan, Buhangin District
7. Barangay Acacia, Buhangin District

National Greening Program
The School of Applied Economics (SAEc) of the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) signed a Memorandum of Agreement last September 15, 2012 at the Davao City International Airport with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-Community Environment and Natural Resource Office- Davao City East for the implementation of SAEc's 10 years Urban Greening Project that aims to plant 40 thousand seedlings. This is to support the Executive Order No. 26 otherwise known as the National Greening Program (NGP), one of the priority program of President Benigno S. Aquino III.
